NYC Rooftop Halloween Parties 2026: A Night Roof and a Day Roof
Two rooftop Halloween parties bookend the 2026 weekend: one after dark on the Lower East Side, one from afternoon into night in Brooklyn. Here's how they compare.
Halloweekend NYC · Updated October 15, 2026 · 4 min read
Most Halloween nights happen behind closed doors. Two this year happen under open sky, at opposite ends of the weekend and on opposite sides of the East River.
The short answer: This calendar has two rooftop Halloween parties in 2026. Dead Disco at PUBLIC Hotel runs Thursday, Oct 29, 10 PM – 4 AM, at the Micro Club / Roof, 215 Chrystie St on the Lower East Side. LUNA: Day of the Dead runs Sunday, Nov 1, 2 PM – 2 AM, at Harriet's Rooftop & Lounge at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. Both are 21+, and tickets are on Eventbrite.
Side by side
Dead Disco at PUBLIC Hotel
- Thursday, Oct 29 · 10 PM – 4 AM
- Micro Club / Roof at PUBLIC Hotel, 215 Chrystie St, Lower East Side, Manhattan
- 21+ · after dark from start to finish
LUNA: Day of the Dead
- Sunday, Nov 1 · 2 PM – 2 AM
- 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge – Harriet's Rooftop & Lounge, 60 Furman St, Brooklyn
- 21+ · daylight into night
One opens the weekend. One closes it. They sit three days apart, so doing both is easy to plan.
The night roof: Dead Disco
Thursday on the Lower East Side. The concept is disco that never went home and drifted into the afterlife: glitter, mirror light, a faintly ghostly finish.
What the format means for you:
- It's dark from the first minute. A 10 PM start means you never see this roof in daylight. Dress for night.
- There's an indoor side to the name. The venue is billed as the Micro Club / Roof, so the night has a room as well as a roof.
- Thursday keeps the weekend open. Going out early leaves Friday and Saturday free for a second party, or for recovery.

The day roof: LUNA
Sunday in Brooklyn. LUNA starts at 2 PM on the rooftop and carries into the lounge as night comes in, ending at 2 AM. It's the weekend's Day of the Dead celebration, set in Brooklyn Bridge Park on the waterfront facing Lower Manhattan.
What the format means for you:
- You get two lights. Afternoon, then night. Your outfit and makeup will be seen in both, so finish them for daylight.
- Dark comes early. Daylight saving time ends that morning at 2 AM, so by the clock, sunset arrives about an hour earlier than it did on Saturday.
- A long window. Twelve hours, 2 PM to 2 AM. Check the event page for arrival details, then plan the rest of your Sunday around it.

Dressing for height in late October
Nobody can promise the weather two weeks out, so plan for a cool, changeable night. Late-October and early-November evenings in New York can turn cold quickly, and a roof adds wind.
- Start with a base layer. A thin thermal top or bodysuit under the costume adds warmth without changing the silhouette.
- Make the outer layer part of the look. A long coat, a cape, a faux-fur stole or a tailored blazer can read as costume, not cover-up.
- Cover the extremities. Opaque tights, opera gloves, a scarf in your palette.
- Think about your shoes. Long nights on hard surfaces punish thin soles. Block heels or boots will carry you further than stilettos.
- Set your makeup. Wind and cold are hard on it. Carry a small touch-up kit.
- For LUNA, dress for two temperatures. Afternoon and late night can feel like different seasons. Layer so you can add warmth as the light goes.
If the forecast turns
Check the forecast the day before and the event page on the day for any updates. If rain is likely, choose fabrics that survive it (wool and leather over suede and silk) and bring a compact umbrella you don't mind carrying all night.
Rooftop night checklist
- Your Eventbrite ticket, ready on your phone
- Valid photo ID: both events are 21+
- A warm layer that belongs to the look
- Shoes built for hard surfaces and long hours
- A small touch-up kit and a phone battery
- Your ride home, planned before you go up
One roof or both?
- Only Thursday: you want the weekend to start early, and start dark.
- Only Sunday: you want daylight, or a finale without a 4 AM finish.
- Both: bookend the weekend, then fill Friday or Saturday from the rest of the calendar.
