Plan Your Halloween Night Out in NYC 2026: A Practical Planner
A step-by-step planner for a Halloween night out in New York: when to decide, how to move between neighborhoods, how to run a group, and whether to book tickets or a table.
Halloweekend NYC · Updated October 15, 2026 · 4 min read
A good Halloween night in New York is mostly decided before you leave the house. The costume gets the attention. The logistics decide whether your group is still together at 2 AM.
The short answer: Pick the night first (Thursday, Oct 29 to Sunday, Nov 1, 2026), buy tickets on Eventbrite from the event page, and decide early whether your group wants individual tickets or a table. Then plan the ride home before you plan the outfit: every night except Sunday runs to 4 AM or later, and Sunday's LUNA runs from 2 PM to 2 AM.
Step one: choose the night
Everything else follows from the date. Here is the calendar with hours and neighborhoods:
- Thu Oct 29: Dead Disco at PUBLIC Hotel, 10 PM – 4 AM, Lower East Side
- Fri Oct 30: Masquerade Inferno at LouLou, 9 PM – 4 AM, Chelsea
- Fri Oct 30: The Descent at Submercer, 10 PM – 4 AM, SoHo
- Sat Oct 31: Heaven & Hell at Eden, 10 PM – 5 AM, Midtown
- Sun Nov 1: LUNA: Day of the Dead, 2 PM – 2 AM, Brooklyn
All are 21+. Addresses and full details live on the events page.
A quick filter. Early start on Friday? Thursday will cost you. Want Halloween on the actual date? That's Saturday. Want to be home at a reasonable hour? Sunday gives you an afternoon start.
Step two: build the timeline
Two weeks out
If you're reading this in mid-October, you're on schedule. Lock the night, agree a rough budget with your group, and settle the tickets-or-table question. Then buy. Tickets are on Eventbrite, one listing per event.
The week of
Confirm the final headcount. Settle costumes, and test anything you'll wear for six hours: masks, heels, contact lenses, headpieces. Check the event page again for any updates on arrival.
The day of
Eat a real meal. Charge your phone and pack a small battery. Keep your Eventbrite ticket where you can open it fast, and put your photo ID in a pocket your costume actually has.
The night
Arrive together. Choose one meeting point outside the venue in case a phone dies. Agree a leave time, or at least a check-in time, before you walk in.
Step three: map the move between neighborhoods
The events sit in different parts of the city: the Lower East Side, Chelsea, SoHo, Midtown and, on Sunday, Brooklyn Bridge Park. A few rules keep the night smooth.
- One event per night. On Friday, LouLou and Submercer run at the same time in different neighborhoods, and each needs its own ticket. Pick one.
- Most subway lines run overnight, less often after midnight. Check the MTA for weekend service changes. Check your route before you leave the venue, not on the sidewalk at 4 AM.
- Ride-hail demand jumps at closing time. Walk a few blocks from the door before you request a car, or leave a little before the final hour.
- Sunday is a different trip. LUNA is at 60 Furman St in Brooklyn. A 2 PM start means you travel in daylight and can plan the return before you go.
The clock change nobody plans for
Daylight saving time ends at 2 AM on Sunday, Nov 1, 2026. The clocks go back one hour in the middle of Saturday night. If you're at Heaven & Hell at Eden, your phone will change time quietly while you're inside. Book rides and set alarms by the phone's clock, and warn whoever is picking you up.
Step four: run the group
- One organizer, one group chat. Decisions die in side conversations.
- Everyone needs valid photo ID. Every event is 21+, and one missing ID can stall the whole group at the door.
- Decide who buys what. Each person can buy their own ticket on Eventbrite, which keeps money simple. If one person buys for everyone, collect before, not after.
- Coordinate the look. A shared theme photographs well and makes it easier to find each other in a busy room.
- Name a closer. One person checks that everyone has a way home before the group splits up.
Step five: ticket or table?
Tickets are the simple route: one person, one entry, bought on Eventbrite.
A table suits a group that wants a home base for the night. It's booked on Eventbrite too. The table reservation fee is separate from the venue's minimum spend and doesn't count toward it, so budget for both. Sizes differ by event, so compare tables by group size on our VIP tables page before anyone pays.
A rough rule: pairs and small groups who like to move around the room, go with tickets. Groups who want somewhere to land and are ready to share a minimum spend, look at a table.
For the organizer's own checklist, with more on ID and arrival, see the Halloween NYC 2026 planning guide.
Official ticket checkout is provided through Eventbrite.
